It's quite funny to me that my last blog on October 14th, 2013 I was talking about why I blog and the new blogging goal I set for myself. Well, as we can all see.. I failed miserably at keeping up with blogging and my goal. A new year, new goals, and big life changes are bringing me back to "Suzy Homemaker at Her Finest". I also received an apron that says "Suzy Homemaker at Her Finest" on the front from my mother-in-love (in-law come September) so I need to keep this going! I have no excuse really. It's not that I haven't been trying new things. It's not that I haven't had the time to blog. I just haven't sat down and done it! Well, worry no longer but Suzy Homemaker is back and ready to tackle this new year full of adventures adventures.
Here's my life update... My final day at the Charlottesville Newsplex is Sunday, January 19th. It's very bittersweet because during my time in Charlottesville, I have grown as a woman, made some great, GREAT friends, learned a lot about central VA weather patterns, and grown so much closer to my fiance. Distance can be a good thing in moderation- Right Eric? I'm moving back to North Carolina and tackling wedding planning, a new job, and ultimately marriage! I am so excited for my next steps, but it's hard to leave my friends and the mountains! Now, you're probably wondering about where I'm going and what I'm doing. I'm moving back in with the parents in Southern Pines until the wedding and working as a freelance meteorologist for Time Warner Cable News, formerly News 14 Carolina. I'm looking forward to the challenge of living at home again. It's a bit daunting but I think it will be good for me and my attitude- Right mom? I'm also looking forward to the challenges TWC News will throw at me in a new television market as a meteorologist. My new gig will give me a more flexible schedule at times. This means I can do more things!! Freelance means, I work when they need me, it's not full-time, and there are no benefits. I think the experience, exposure, and flexibility will out weigh all that the job doesn't offer. If I'm going to take a risk like this, now is the time to do it! I'm looking forward to more flexibility in my schedule and not working every....single... weekend!
There it is! I'm leaving some great people, but I know I will see them again. I'm starting a new adventure in North Carolina and ultimately a new life with Eric. The next 9 months are going to fly by. I hope I can keep up with it all here on this blog! Here's to a new year full of new adventures. I hope you can join me for the ride!
