First, and foremost, today is my mom's birthday! She is a woman deserving of nothing but the best and I wouldn't be here today without her! I love you mom and I can't wait to celebrate this weekend! Happy Birthday!
I'm currently in my way to Clemson,SC for my first Clemson football game. Yes, I am blogging while on the road. No, I am not driving. I have been sitting in traffic for over 2 hours now and I'm still 2 miles from the detour. I have a feeling I'm never going to get to Eric!!
While I'm sitting on I-81, I have painted all 20 nails, sewn the straps on my dress (the were too long), and listened to a lot of an audio book. I thought, what better time than now to update my blog!
I haven't written at all since the engagement but that doesn't mean I haven't tried new things. This week has been one of the happiest and most exciting weeks of my life but it's also been non-stop!
Starting on Saturday, I began losing my voice from taking so much! The raspiness is still around. That's a first for me! I've been telling all of my family and friends about Eric's awesome proposal and showing off this ring! I said it in the laat blog, but it's all beyond perfect and he blew me away!! This I'd exhausting ;)
We also finalized our venue and picked a date. This wedding I have been dreaming about since a little girl is finally going to happen with a wonderful, wonderful man by my side on September 27, 2014! We can't wait! It's an outdoor venue so we wanted to wait until the weather would be cooler! I never thought of myself as an outdoor venue kind of girl but this historical home is gorgeous and comfortable and it's really going to be a lot of fun!
Mixed in with all of the details, there are plenty of firsts that I'm not going to bore you with but this will be my first and last wedding to plan- that's the biggie!
This week, I also entered to be one of David Tutera's bride bloggers. The response I got back was very positive!! Tuesday night and Wednesday I spent finalizing my application. Fingers are crossed but I think it would be an exciting opportunity, as well as a great challenge! I keep checking my email every hour looking for a response! If I get it, I won't have to bore you with all of my wedding planning!
In preparation for this weekend, the homemaker in me had to make cookies for the game! I worked in the kitchen for about 2 hours making 3 recipes of cookies. I use the Nestlé Toll House chocolate chip cookie recipe on the back of the bag for both my sugar cookies and chocolate chip. I also made a batch of Eric's favorites, the Pillsbury Rolo Cookie recipe. The trick to making any cookie perfect, is to cook them for 7 minutes. They won't look done. But, leave them on the pan for a couple of minutes and they will be perfect! I've had to break into the dozens on cookies a couple of times to get me through this traffic debacle. They're perfect!
I'm really looking forward to this weekend! I get to (re)meet Eric's Clemson friends and see Adam (Eric's brother) perform in the matching band. Just being able to go to a football game this season is really exciting!
This is also my first full weekend off this year. If I liked hash tags I would say ...weekendweathergirlproblems... But I'm completely against them and find them more annoying than useful! Anyways, ill be able to see my family for one last lake hoorah on Sunday and Monday!
So, if you've gotten this far in this blog post, thank you for reading! It's probably just a jumbled mess of words rather than one thought like a post should be. Ill resume as normal next week!
